DAY 2 OF 3- COLORADO ITINERARY
March 11, 2022
Day Two
After a much-needed rest from our big day before, we headed to downtown Colorado Springs to try the Denver Biscuit Company. We arrived at least 30 mins early, and there was already a line formed! We had heard online that their biscuits were great, and they were! They are so big that we shared “The Lola” which is fried chicken, bacon, house-made honey butter, all covered in maple syrup 🤤.
When breakfast was through, we made our way to the highlight of our trip, The Garden of the Gods. We had an electric bike tour booked! (no pedaling required 👍🏻👍🏻) It was AMAZING. I have never seen views like this before. The tour guide was excellent and took us to all of the best spots! Everywhere you looked, it was beautiful, and it was all capped off with the constant sight of Pikes Peak in the background.
This particular day we skipped lunch because we were going on a food tour. We booked with Rocky Mountain Food Tours specifically. It was our first food tour and a great way to try new things that you would have never thought to try before! We had Jamaican jerk chicken, Irish food, burgers, specialty lemonade, and a local ice cream flavor called purple mountain majesty, which was our favorite! It is taro root ice cream with raspberry truffle from Josh and John’s. That sounds strange, but believe me, it is not!
Final Thoughts
Day 2 was our favorite day out of our trip! Hands down, the Garden of the Gods bike tour was the best part of all. 10/10 would recommend, and no matter what, if you are in Colorado Springs, you have to try the purple mountain majesty!
