Savannah
February 22, 2022
Even though Chris is from Georgia and Sara has been here for almost 20 years, we have never really taken the time to visit Savannah! Recently, we decided to change that by taking a last-minute weekend trip to see what this beautiful city had to offer! *Spoiler alert* It was amazing!
When we arrived, we headed straight to the city market to explore all of the local vendors. There, we visited Byrd’s Cookies and tried a few of each followed by a British Pasty from Pie society.
Later that night, we went on the Georgia Queen Riverboat Cruise. On board, we had dinner, listened to some music, and got an awesome view of Savannah’s Talmadge Memorial bridge. Of course, it was super windy and freezing that night, so we had to run back in to warm up often!
Something we didn’t mention about our thoughts on the four-hour drive over to the coast- we got a bit of a crazy idea. We knew we were in desperate need of some new pictures for our website and social media and knew that Savannah would be an amazing place as the backdrop. After searching for Savannah Based photographers and finding some really amazing ones- we DM’d a few on the off chance that one of them would have some time for a last-minute Sunday session. One did!! Woohoo- and OMG, she did a great job. Her name is Meredith Campbell (Insta handle @MeredithCampdellPhoto- check her out) and she was so sweet and professional!
Lastly, we took a hop-on-hop-off bus tour. This is a great way to see a city in a short amount of time! We only left the bus to visit on of our must dos which was Leopold’s ice cream shop. They have been a Savannah staple since 1919! Would definitely recommend!! After waiting for the bus in the rain, we finished our tour and headed back home! Savannah is a great place for anyone to visit, especially those who love a gorgeous view and learning about some rich history!
