getting ready
July 27, 2022
One of the best ways to start your wedding story is by filming the getting ready process. Makeup, hair, jewelry, and earrings are just a few of the big points that we capture at the beginning of your big day.
For your wedding video, you'll want to try to keep your bridal suite as clean as possible. Of course, it will be impossible to have it perfectly clean, but as long as things are picked up and tucked into bags as much as possible, you will be good! We recommend assigning one bridesmaid to make sure things stay as tidy as possible throughout the day.
The first thing we will typically do on a wedding day when we arrive is check the bride’s hair and makeup progress. If it is not finished, we take that opportunity to take shots of the bridesmaids, venue, and reception areas. We also typically take this time to get drone footage. Typically, the bride will have her hair and makeup complete before being on camera. Let’s face it, no one wants to be filmed on their wedding day before they are ready.
The best practice is to plan to have the makeup and hair team be prepared to “fake it”. For example, they could brush the bride’s cheeks with a brush, spray hairspray, use a cold curling iron, etc. This ensures that you look your best from your video's start to its finish!
