Our First West Coast Adventure
We took our first-ever trip to the West Coast, so here’s a little recap of our adventures!
Our trip began with a stay at the Disneyland Hotel, which was AMAZING. We even got a free room upgrade 😍
We spent two days exploring Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. We have been to Disneyland in Paris (and Disney World, of course, living only a road trip away), but this was very different. We loved that you could walk from the hotel to the park. I think our favorite ride that we don’t have in Orlando was Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land.
Day 3 had us leaving Anaheim and heading to Hollywood. This day we just spent exploring all there was to see. We even went to a “secret” place to view the Hollywood sign that was so “secret” that we were stuck in a traffic jam for an hour! Our recommendation- don’t drive up the mountain. Just get the best view you can from the ground! 🫣
Day 4 was spent at Universal Studios Hollywood. It wasn’t as big as the one in Orlando, but the backlot tour was such an interesting thing to see! It’s amazing how they make these sets seem so big in the movies, but they are all located right there together! We also got to experience Super Nintendo World, which is currently only located in California and Japan, so this was a super special treat for us.
Day 5, we said farewell to LA and set our sights on Las Vegas. It was a scenic 4-hour drive so we figured it was worth it to not fly. One of the first things we did when we arrived was visit Buldogis for Keith Lee's 10 out of 10 "egg drop" toast. We definitely can see why it got such a high rating. 🤤
We explored the resorts and loved to see all of the Chinese New Year décor. Dinner was at Best Friend by Roy Choi, a highly recommended restaurant by everything that we watched online. We ordered the chef’s menu, which was like a sample platter. The Korean short ribs were 10/10!
We can’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to explore two iconic destinations and recharge before the busy spring wedding season!
